The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) organizes awareness webinars and lectures aimed at informing health care providers, pharmacists and medical device specialists about the latest developments in addressing the COVID-19 outbreak.
The first webinar provides an overview of the currently available laboratory reagents for diagnosis COVID-19, with an introduction about SFDA updates related to the virus and the procedures contained such as emergency authorization for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
It will be held on Wednesday (25 March 2020) at 01:00 p.m. to 02:00 p.m., entitled “SFDA-Medical Devices Sector Efforts to Manage the Outbreak of COVID-19” by the Executive Director of Surveillance and Biometrics at SFDA, Dr. Mohammed Majrashi and the Scientific Assessment Expert at SFDA, Dr. Razan Assaly.
The second webinar targets drug sector, specialists and who are interested in the drug field. It clarifies the mechanism of pharmaceutical companies in discovering and approving vaccines from regulatory approval, the possibility of using drug currently available in the therapeutic protocols and the differences between flu virus and COVID-19.
It will be held on Tuesday (31 March 2020) at 01:00 p.m. to 02:00 p.m., by the Director of Drug Benefit and Risk Evaluation Department at SFDA, Dr. Mohammed A. Alquwaizani, entitled “When a vaccine for Corona COVID-19 will be available in the market? Approval process and regulatory requirements”.
